Melius (melius.com, from Melius AI, Inc.) calls itself an AI-native operating system for creatives. It is not Melius Research, Melius Consulting or the older “Melius: Home of AI Art” phone app. It got a burst of attention on October 6, 2026, when the founders, former Ramp engineers, announced a funding round for this, their second product.

What is Melius AI?

Melius is a browser and desktop canvas for AI images, video, audio and text. According to its documentation, you place nodes on an infinite canvas, wire them together, and run generations across many models from one place. An AI agent can do the work for you: you describe a campaign, and it builds the concept art, product shots, ad variants or storyboards on the canvas, where you can tweak each step.

It is aimed at marketing and creative teams: agencies pitching concepts, e-commerce brands that need pack shots and on-model images, filmmakers building storyboards, and growth teams that need event graphics and blog heroes without a design ticket.

1. Write the brief: describe the product, campaign or scene in the agent chat.
2. Let the agent build: it creates nodes for images, video and copy, picking models for each step.
3. Refine on the canvas: swap models, edit prompts or branch a node to make variants.
4. Export and share: download the assets or share projects with your team.

We checked the official Melius pricing page on October 11, 2026. Prices are lower on annual billing, and monthly billing currently shows a 10% discount off list price. Credits refresh every month.

Different models use different amounts of credits, and Melius shows the expected cost before each run. You can buy credit top-ups without changing plan, and paid plans can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled at any time, with access until the end of the billing period. A two-seat Team plan works out to $126 a month on monthly billing or $112 a month on annual.

Is Melius AI free? There is a free plan with limited trial credits, enough to test the canvas and agent. Regular use needs a paid plan, which starts at $17 a month billed annually.

Ownership and privacy

Melius says you keep ownership of what you create, subject to the terms of the underlying model providers, and that it does not use your content to train generative models or copy your style or brand assets.

Limitations

• Credit math: “300 images or 14 videos” is an estimate; heavy video models use credits fast.
• Learning curve: the node canvas is powerful but takes time if you only need quick one-off images.
• Team billing in beta: self-serve Team billing is still marked beta.
• Young product: this is the company’s second product, so features are changing quickly.
