Odessia is a free AI travel agent you text: it plans trips, finds better flight and hotel rates and books them. See how it works and how it makes money.
Odessia launched on October 14, 2026 as an always-on concierge for travel and experiences. You send it a message, and it plans the trip, checks live prices, looks for perks and books flights, hotels and tables for you. The name isn’t brand new: Odessia had funding coverage earlier in 2026, and travel trade press described the October 14 release as a relaunch. This page covers what the new Odessia does, why it costs nothing to use, how to start and what to watch out for.
What is Odessia?
Odessia calls itself everyone’s travel and experience concierge. The idea is that one text replaces the usual 40 open tabs: tell it where and when you want to go, and it comes back with flights, a place to stay and a day-by-day plan you can book. It also handles smaller plans, such as a dinner reservation or a weekend away.
Two details set it apart from a chatbot that only suggests ideas. Odessia says it is an IATA-registered travel agent, so it can book as an agency rather than just send you links. And it works over channels you already use: desktop, messaging and email, with an iOS app listed as coming soon.

What Odessia does
- Plans whole trips from a text: flights, stays and a day-by-day itinerary, ready to book.
- Hunts for better prices: checks nearby dates for the same room, compares routes and multi-city orders, and looks at different departures to cut layovers.
- Watches for months: it learns when you travel and what you celebrate, then tracks prices, award seats and restaurant openings ahead of time and messages you when a better option appears.
- Books direct with perks: it books hotels direct or at the cheapest rate it finds, and you can still earn airline miles and hotel loyalty points on eligible bookings.
- Luxury hotel benefits: Odessia lists travel-agency discounts and perks at 40,000+ hotels, and extras such as breakfast for two, a $100 property credit and upgrades at its top 2,000 luxury hotels (the Odessia Collection).
- Hotel research: the Odessia Report rates 4- and 5-star hotels on location, rooms, sleep, service and more. Odessia says recommendations are not influenced by ads, sponsorships or commission levels.
- Group planning: your Odessia can work with friends’ accounts to turn shared ideas into one plan.

Odessia Pricing (2026)
Odessia is free to use. The homepage says “Free to use” next to the sign-up button and “(Yes, it’s really free.)” at the bottom, and we found no subscription, plan or fee table on odessia.com when we checked on October 16, 2026. You pay for the flights, hotels and experiences you book, just as you would anywhere else.
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Using Odessia (planning, messaging, price watching) | Free | No subscription or plan listed |
| Bookings (flights, hotels, tables) | The price of the booking | Charged to your card; supplier rules on refunds and changes apply |
| How Odessia earns | Paid by suppliers and partners | Commissions, incentives, referral fees and margin built into some prices (per its terms) |

So how does a free agent pay for itself? Odessia’s terms of service say some suppliers pay it commissions and incentives, partners may pay for marketing and referrals, and prices for bookings made through it may include Odessia’s margin, which can vary by offer. That’s the classic travel agency model. It doesn’t make Odessia a bad deal, but it’s worth comparing the final price with booking direct now and then, especially early on.

How to get started with Odessia
- Go to odessia.com and tap Get started.
- Send your first message by text, messaging or email with where you want to go, dates and budget.
- Optionally connect Gmail and Calendar. Odessia asks for read-only access to spot upcoming trips and events, and says it never sends email as you.
- Review the plan it sends back, ask for changes, and approve what you want booked.
- Let it watch: keep the conversation open so it can alert you to price drops and award seats.
Privacy and control
Odessia says it is SOC 2 Type II audited and handles your travel from a dedicated email address. Its terms describe an authorization system: Odessia acts on your behalf only within the scope and spending limits you approve, and storing a card or login doesn’t by itself authorize a purchase. The terms also say Odessia may later use conversations to train AI models where the law allows, but not data from Google Workspace or credentials stored in its vault. If you let it sign in to airline or hotel accounts for you, the terms make you responsible for any loyalty program rules that restrict automated access.

Limitations
- Commission-based: free to you, but Odessia can earn more on some offers than others, so compare prices on big bookings.
- No iOS app yet: the app is listed as coming soon; today it’s desktop, messaging and email.
- Supplier rules still apply: many fares and rooms are non-refundable, and changes or cancellations follow each supplier’s policy.
- Savings claims are Odessia’s own: the site’s “save up to 75%” and price examples are marketing illustrations, not guarantees.
- New release: the relaunched product went live on October 14, 2026, so expect rough edges.
Odessia alternatives
- ChatGPT agent: a general AI agent that can research and fill in bookings on the web, but isn’t a travel agency.
- Coral: a family AI agent on iMessage for shared plans, orders and logistics.
- Best AI agents for productivity: more assistants that take tasks off your plate.
- Booking direct or a human travel agent: still the baseline to compare prices and service against.
TechPilot.ai’s Verdict on Odessia
Odessia is one of the more convincing AI travel agents so far because it can actually book as a registered agency and keeps watching prices long after you ask. Since it’s free to use, there’s little reason not to try it on your next trip.
Go in with open eyes: it earns from commissions and margins, so compare the final price on big bookings, and set clear spending limits before you hand over a card.
