Voyager AI is a desktop agent from the makers of Moda that runs Photoshop, Premiere, Blender and more. See the free plan, $19+ tiers and BYO-key option.

Voyager.so is made by Nullframe, Inc., the company behind the Moda design tool. This page is about that Voyager. It is not Voyage AI (the embeddings company now owned by MongoDB) and not Voyager, the research AI agent that plays Minecraft. Voyager launched on October 8, 2026, with a launch post that passed 2 million views on X.

What is Voyager AI?

Voyager describes itself as an “open harness for creative work”. Think of it as Claude Code or Codex, but for video, design, motion and sound. According to the official FAQ, it is a desktop app where an AI agent drives the creative apps you already have, generates images, video, voice and music with current AI models, and edits the results into finished work. You describe the outcome and give feedback; the agent picks the tools and does the steps.

“Open” refers to what it works with, not the code. The FAQ says the app is proprietary for now, but you can choose the agent, the models and the apps, and add your own skills and tools.

What Voyager can control

  • Your creative apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve (including the free version), Final Cut Pro, Blender, Unity and Ableton Live, using your own licences.
  • Its own free engines: Voyager Design (vector, raster, layout and motion graphics), Voyager Video (timeline, multicam, colour) and Voyager DAW (arranging, VST3, mixing and mastering), with no watermark.
  • AI models: Veo 3.1, Seedance, Kling 3.0, MiniMax H3, Wan, Nano Banana, GPT Image, FLUX.2, ElevenLabs and more.
  • About 40 skills: editing, social loops, voiceovers and more, plus your own saved skills and MCP servers.
  • Claude Code and Codex: a plugin brings the same creative skills into those tools.

Voyager Pricing (2026)

Voyager is free to download. We checked the official pricing page on October 11, 2026. Paid plans are per seat, and annual billing is 15% off (Creator works out to $41.65 a month). New paid subscribers also get a launch bonus of extra credits for the first three months.

Credits are worth 1 cent each and are charged at the model provider’s price with no markup; for example, an 8-second MiniMax H3 clip with audio is 48 credits and an 8-second Seedance 2.5 clip about 277. Paid plans can top up with packs from $11 (1.1 cents a credit) or auto-reload, and billing is prepaid. Enterprise with SSO is available by email, and a Team plan is coming.

Bring your own model key or subscription: you can connect your existing Claude or ChatGPT (Codex) sign-in, which Voyager does not bill, and add your own API keys for fal, Google Gemini, ElevenLabs or Higgsfield. Then Voyager generates without a Voyager plan and the provider bills you directly.

Is Voyager free? Yes. The app and its Design, Video and DAW engines are free, you get 1,000 credits a month on the Free plan with no card, and you can use your own agent and keys at no charge from Voyager.

System requirements

Voyager runs best on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 15 or later; Intel Macs are not supported yet. Windows 11 and Linux builds are in alpha, and live control of the Adobe apps is macOS-only for now.

Limitations

  • Mac-first: Windows and Linux are alpha, and Adobe control needs a Mac.
  • Not open source: despite the “open harness” tagline, the app is proprietary.
  • Credits add up: premium video models such as Seedance 2.5 cost hundreds of credits per clip.
  • Refunds: payments are generally non-refundable, except for billing errors or failed generations.
  • Brand-new: launched October 8, 2026, so expect fast changes.

Voyager alternatives

  • Higgsfield AI: a web platform for AI video and images; Voyager can also generate on your Higgsfield plan.
  • HyperFrames Studio: an AI video creation studio.
  • Cardboard AI: an agentic video editor that edits from chat prompts.
  • Comfy Agent: an AI agent for ComfyUI workflows.
  • ArtCraft: a free, open-source AI studio with Adobe-style apps.

TechPilot.ai’s Verdict on Voyager

Voyager is the most ambitious creative agent of the month: instead of another prompt box, it does the production work inside real editors and keeps projects editable. The free tier, built-in engines and bring-your-own-key option make it cheap to try.

If you are on an Apple silicon Mac and already use Adobe, Resolve or Blender, it is worth testing now. Windows users should wait for the general release.
