Kling 4.0 makes 30-second AI videos in up to 4K HDR. See its October release date, what Kling 4.0 Flash does now and what plans cost from $8.80 a month.
Kuaishou’s Kling 4.0 is the next video model from Kling AI. It generates videos of up to 30 seconds in a single pass, with up to 10 keyframes, 15 reference assets, stereo audio and native 4K. The full model is due in October 2026, and a lighter Kling 4.0 Flash has been rolling out to a limited group of creators since September 28.
What is Kling 4.0 and why is it trending?
Kling announced Kling 4.0 in a release note that says the all-new model “will officially launch in October” and that Kling 4.0 Flash “became available to a limited group of users for early access on September 28.” Its Kling 4.0 feature page, checked on October 5, 2026, still lists the full model as coming soon this October.
The upgrade is a big jump from Kling 3.0. Kling says 4.0 offers longer videos of up to 30 seconds in one pass, adds multi-keyframe control, accepts far more references in one task and outputs 10-bit HDR at 1080p and 4K. Kling’s feature page also cites more than 60 million users and 600 million AI videos generated, so a new flagship model gets a lot of attention.
How Kling 4.0 works
Kling describes 4.0 as a native multimodal video model. Text-to-video, image-to-video, references, video continuation and editing all live in one panel in Kling Creator Studio. A typical workflow looks like this:
- Start from text or images: write a prompt of up to 8,000 tokens, or upload a first frame, last frame or up to 10 keyframes.
- Add references: combine up to 15 assets in one task, including up to 10 images, 5 videos (30 seconds in total), voice references and 7 subjects, called elements.
- Pick the format: 3 to 30 seconds, at 720p, 1080p or 4K, in 21:9, 16:9, 1:1 or 9:16.
- Generate with sound: Kling says 4.0 adds two-channel stereo audio, better lip sync and dialogue in languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Hindi.
- Edit or extend: re-edit an expression, camera angle, background or line of dialogue using up to 5 clips, then extend a video forward or backward up to 2 minutes in total once video extension arrives. Kling lists extension as coming soon.

What Kling 4.0 is likely to cost in credits
Kling hasn’t published Kling 4.0 credit rates yet. For reference, Kling’s Kling 3.0 credit guide lists native 4K output at 30 credits per second, which works out to 900 credits for a 30-second clip at that rate. Kling 4.0 rates may differ, so check the generation panel before you budget. Higher tiers cost less per credit, from $1.06 per 100 credits on Standard to $0.49 per 100 on Ultra.
Is Kling 4.0 worth it? If you already make AI video, Standard at $8.80 a month is enough to try Kling 4.0 Flash if your account gets access. Wait for Kling to publish 4.0 credit costs before you commit to Premier or Ultra for 4K work.
